Hanne + Conor, Tom Almhütte Mountain Lodge Wedding
⚡️YOU’RE MY ROCK, WHO LOVES ROCKS⚡️….
Hanne and Conor met through friends at Lancaster University, their first attempt at romance didn’t work out, according to Hanne in her wedding speech, he was “the one that got away”. Fast forward 9 years and here they are, living in Salzburg with their stunning dog Cheddar.
These two live for the mountains, Hanne is a pretty ridiculous Ski racer (although is currently sporting a sparkly pair of crutches after breaking her knee amongst other ligament damage 6 weeks ago) and Conor would rather be found up a mountain on 2 wheels or hiking with the ever faithful Cheddar. They moved out to Salzburg for work, and when Conor popped the question they had no doubt it would be on top of a mountain – the challenge, finding a venue that wasn’t your traditional pine and frilly hutt.
Enter: Tom Almhütte! This venue was something else, high up in the Austrian mountains, overlooking the Salfelden valley below, this one of a kind hutt is perched perfectly high enough to give you breathtaking views whilst low enough to avoid any completely crazy weather.
The day itself was super easy going, with plenty of beer and cake, and different weather every 20 mins, from blazing sun during the ceremony to pouring down rain and cloud fog during the reception, with a bit of thunder and lightning thrown in for the portraits – by the evening the weather has settled to a dry and perfectly calm night.
Best quote of the day, from the bride herself “Your my rock, who loves rocks”
Hanne and Conor both work in Media, think Winter sports – as a result they knew exactly what kind of vibe they were looking for with their wedding photography – not too posey but as much Wes Anderson vibes as you can fit in – my exact kind of brief.
Tom Almhütteis the perfect venue for this, 360 degree panoramas of snow covered mountains, cloud, green fields, the odd cow and a spectacular lake a short drive up the mountain. Chupette is the mascot of Tom Almhütte, and what a mascot he is, his likeness is everywhere from the artwork upstairs, to the enormous banner on the roof and the wooden carving of him in the entranceway.
When the first dance song is “lets make this last forever” by Blink 182 followed by Everlong and a hefty stream of smoke machines, with an enormous disco ball, you know the party is about to go off.
A HUGE thank you to the staff at Tom Almhütte, they were the most attentive, welcoming and efficient wedding team I think I’ve ever worked with.
Hanne and Conor are my kind of couple, super relaxed and just want to party – they trusted the process
