Lucy + Alex at The Barns at Lodge Farm

⚡️YEAH BUT CAN YOU SLUT DROP⚡️….my favourite pick-up line of all time

Was the very important question Lucy had for Alex when they first met in a club in tooting 🙌 The rest as they is history and we still don’t know if Alex can actually slut drop? All we do know is these two are both utter legends 🧡

Lucy + Alex met at a club in Tooting, Lucy came up to Alex and asked if he could Slut drop…..and the rest is history. When i turned up at Lodge Farm in the pouring rain, i was delighted to discover not only was one of the bridesmaids from New Zealand (it’s where i’m from too!) but that she also had Whittakers chocolate with her, which quite honestly is my kryptonite, made me extremely happy. At prep the Make-up artist, Alice and Claire the hair stylist were an absolute pleasure to work with, super welcoming and very friendly.

The ceremony was in a 400 year old barn, with some gorgeous readings from both the bride and grooms sisters. It was an obscenely rainy day but that didn’t perturb or bother the couple, they were super happy and smiling all day long. In the main barn where they had the wedding breakfast there was 3 long tables and huge lit up stars and the bottom, which aligned beautifully with their first dance song, Coldplay – a star full of skies.

I loved the ceremony, particularly when Lucy misheard the vows and repeated them wrong and it sounds like she wasn’t sure she wanted to marry Alex – hilarious. The couple even had their own beer brewed for the day, a really special detail, as well as the amazing BBQ food.

We had to nip out for portraits quickly because it was chucking it down, for the evening portraits, we even managed to get a sparkler shot and wandered back to the ceremony space with fairy lights – which was a lovely and unexpected photo. Lucy + Alex wanted fireworks but it wasn’t possible at the venue, i managed to give them some fireworks with the fairy lights and some clever use of reflections.

Somewhere into the evening and the dancing, Lucy, the bride head-butted me full on – once i got over the shock it was pretty funny.

They had Ben Noke the pianist, a very talented musician who can can sing or play any song, you can put requests in and he will play it from black eye peas to hey jude to the backstreet boys – i really enjoyed his set, fantastic addition to your wedding.

The venue team were out of this world, Bryony & Sioban specifically, the most incredible team, and how they looked after me, huge shoutout to bryony for being an incredible host – probably the best venue i’ve worked at all year, they’re doing a fantastic job.

Overall Lucy + Alex are a really great couple and they trusted me to do my thing and as a result the day flowed beautifully
