Electric Energy & Exposed Brick: William & Romain’s Epic MC Motors Wedding Story
W&R: Industrial-Chic Style Meets East London Soul
If you’re looking for a couple who knows how to throw a party that feels genuinely, unapologetically them, look no further than William and Romain.
From the first moment we connected, I knew this would be a high-voltage, style-forward day that blended sharp tailoring with the raw, gritty charm of East London. This wasn’t a wedding about tradition; it was about connection, incredible music, and celebrating their love in a space as cool and curated as they are.
They chose MC Motors for their reception on an autumnal day—October 18th—and that industrial warmth against the crisp London air was simply magic. This day was a masterclass in using a dry hire venue to reflect personality: zero fluff, maximum atmosphere.
The Backdrop: MC Motors, Dalston’s Warehouse Icon
Why does MC Motors feature on every cool couple’s shortlist? Because it’s a blank canvas with a lifetime of character built in.
Nestled in Dalston, this 6,000 sq ft former car mechanics warehouse is the definitive East London warehouse wedding venue. It’s the contrast that sells it: the beautiful chaos of exposed brick, the vintage props scattered amongst the space, and the towering skylighted roof that floods the entire room with painterly, natural light.
As a documentary London wedding photographer, this is my dream location. The texture of the walls, the geometric shadows cast by the industrial windows, and the sheer scale allow every moment—from a quiet portrait to a raucous first dance—to feel cinematic. The space demands bold choices, and William and Romain delivered, allowing the venue’s innate style to do the heavy lifting. This isn’t just a place to hold a party; it’s a living, breathing set piece for a truly unique story.
Searching for a venue that embraces the raw spirit of the city? The answer is always this industrial chic London wedding venue.
The Storyteller’s Lens: Velvet, Vows, and Vivid Light
The day began with that nervous, exhilarating buzz that only warehouse weddings seem to produce.
William and Romain, both immaculate in deeply coloured, modern tailoring, absolutely nailed the style brief. Romain’s rich forest green velvet jacket paired perfectly with William’s crisp navy double-breasted suit, embracing the cool, urban elegance of the day.
We prioritised the first look in a small, quiet corner beneath the venue’s famed skylight. It was a private moment of pure relief and joy. Capturing these unscripted seconds is everything: the immediate softening of shoulders, the unfiltered laugh, the quiet, shared “we did it” look. These are the moments that define candid wedding photography. I even captured some moments on Analogue film to give them that timeless, tactile feel.
The ceremony itself was intimate and highly personal, framed by a minimal, modern floral installation that softened the industrial edges of the main space. Their vows were heartfelt, prompting plenty of laughter and more than a few tears from their guests. The warmth and honesty radiating from the couple made the cavernous space feel utterly cosy.
The Party: Legendary Energy and Disco Balls
When the sun set, the warehouse truly came alive. The dry hire nature of MC Motors meant William and Romain could completely control the evening atmosphere.
The dinner felt like an exclusive, stylish underground supper club, followed by a seamless transition to the dance floor. The fairy lights twinkled, the house-supplied vintage props served as perfect photo backdrops, and the whole space vibrated with energy. The music choices were legendary, building from classic soul to high-energy electronic beats, perfectly matched to the couple’s fun, easy-going nature.
Capturing the party is always my favourite part of an MC Motors wedding. The raw enthusiasm of the guests, the dramatic lighting hitting the exposed brickwork, and the sheer joy on William and Romain’s faces as they were swept up by their friends—it was relentless, beautiful, and the absolute perfect climax to their story.
