The most colourful Holmes Mill Wedding ever
Lucy + Chris’s vibrant wedding at Holmes Mill in Lancashire
WHAT A DAY! This was one of my favourite weddings of the year so far, when Lucy turned up with what is most certainly the best flower crown i have ever seen, i knew this was going to be a special Holmes Mill Wedding day. What i’m now referring to as “the flower crown of dreams” made by Olive Owl really stole the show, i’m still amazed that it was all real flowers. Lucy’s dress was an Alice Temperley number and then tailored and tweaked by her mum to really create the most perfect outfit.
They met in Winsford in Cheshire in 2018, they had been on a night out with their mates, Lucy was at the bar giving him evil looks and they both agreed that they disliked each other, fast forward 20 mins and both of the groups had joined up so they all ended up at a house party together. Lucy went out of her way to annoy chris, playing beyonce every time he wanted to put some more alternative music on, but somehow they ended up following each other on Instagram. A year later they ended up on the same night out and realised they had tons in common, 2 weeks later they were in love, lockdown saw them live together and the rest is history.
Lucy and Chris are really big film buffs, they are both into True Romance and have matching tattoos of lyrics by the cure, “Just like heaven”, Chris also had it sewn into his suit jacket. Lucy walked down the aisle to Your so cool from, True Romance by Hans Zimmer, of my favourite composers of all time, it perfectly suited the moment.
I regularly tell my couples to double whatever confetti they’ve ordered (always biodegradable!) because you can never have too much, Lucy got it exactly right – bright colourful disks came reigning down, perfectly setting off her epic flower crown.
