Rustic Barn Wedding at Ha Ha Farm in Norfolk

Demi + Patricks stunning DIY wedding at Ha Ha Farm

Demi and Patrick both work in film based in Bristol, they loved my cinematic style and were looking for something a bit different when they first got in touch – we hit it off right away, clicking instantly. When it finally came to their big day I headed down the night before and set myself up in the most amazing Airbnb with a bbq, little pond and my own field! I headed over to Ha Ha Farm on the night before to meet up with Demi + Patrick to go through the day and taste one of the delicious beers they had out ready for the day to come. Whilst sipping the Norfolk Beer I also met their amazing dog, Pringle – who I now know loves to chase cars.

Ha Ha Farm is a rustic barn wedding venue, its pretty much entirely do-it-yourself, Demi and Patrick has setup an outside bar for cocktails and pimms after the ceremony and Rum and Norfolk beers in the evening. They’re such a chilled and super easy-going couple that all they really wanted from their wedding day was to have fun in the sun with their friends and party until the earlier hours, this was the perfect venue for them.

They got marred outside, whilst the sun was shining (more on that later), one of their best mates Sam did the ceremony, Demi and Patrick had already done their legal ceremony at Chelsea town hall the week before. After the ceremony everyone headed to the shack near the ceremony space for cocktails.

The confetti shot was epic, having friends working in the film or TV industry always helps because they know how important it is to get THE SHOT! And get the shot we did, absolutely stunning. We also flew through the pretty minimal portraits, the couple really knew what they wanted this day – documentary and portraits, which for me is wonderful, these are the photos you’ll frame and cherish forever.

They had laid out a ton of lawn games for everyone to play and incredible food to try and soak up the copious amounts of cocktails going around. Back to the sunshine,  by early evening pretty much everyone was burnt, I was on hand with what we’re now referring to as “Lulu” to dish out suncream and aloe vera gel, even to the bride!!

Enormous huge shoutout to the caterers at this wedding, Country Box, for one it was Turkish food – unbelievable and two, they kept trying to feed me nibbles – which honestly almost never happens, incredible. The speeches were short and sweet which left plenty of time for evening portraits at golden hour.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to get outside when the sun starts going down, if you miss golden hour because you have 45 mins of speeches, that light ain’t ever coming back, you’ll see from this gallery just how important that light is.

In the evening we headed out for golden hour, first in the barn with the light bursting through and then after climbing over a tin roof and into a corn field we hit some pretty spectacular shots with unbelievable light.

I stayed until late into the night, with the fire pits going full pelt and a crazy dance floor, I even got a shout out from the DJ, Eddie the Goat Boy, for staying so late.

Can’t wait to go for a beer with them again when I’m next in Bristol.
