100 Barrington Wedding: B&T’s Double-Decker, Brixton Brewery, Non-Stop Party

From Brixton Brewery to 100 Barrington.

B&T’s wedding was less of a traditional day and more of an incredible, non-stop party from start to finish. I’m Paul, the Gingerbeard behind Gingerbeard Weddings, and this one had more energy than almost any wedding I’ve shot.

A Classic Red Double-Decker Bus Wedding

We piled onto a classic red double-decker bus with the champagne flowing. It’s hard to beat as a way to move a wedding party around London, and it set the tone for the whole day: loud, joyful and completely unstuffy.

A moving bus is a gift for documentary wedding photography. Everyone’s relaxed, everyone’s laughing, and the best moments happen in the gaps between the plans.

A Pitstop for a Pint at Brixton Brewery

Halfway through, we made a quick pitstop for a pint at Brixton Brewery Taproom. A pub or brewery stop is the kind of detail I love in an alternative wedding. It’s unplanned in feel, personal to the couple and full of the sort of real moments that make the best photos.

Arriving at 100 Barrington to a Cloud of Confetti

We then pulled up to 100 Barrington to a massive cloud of confetti. A big, noisy, joyful arrival like that is exactly what you want a photographer there for. You get one chance at it, and it’s all about being in the right spot at the right moment.

The Energy Never Dropped

From that moment on, the energy never dropped. Bottles were popping, the espresso martinis were flowing, and the dance floor was packed until the lights came up.

Party weddings are my happiest place. I’m no wallflower, and I won’t disappear as soon as the band starts. I’ll be on the dance floor with you, shooting on digital and analogue until the very end, so the final frames of the night get captured as well as the first.

Planning a Party Wedding in London? Questions Couples Ask

Can you photograph a wedding that moves between locations?

Yes. I love weddings that travel, whether that’s a bus, a walk to the pub or a surprise stop along the way. It gives the day a natural flow and plenty of unposed moments.

Do you stay for the dance floor?

Absolutely. I don’t leave when the party starts. If you’re planning a late one, I’ll be there for the dancing, the chaos and the final song.

Do you shoot analogue film at London weddings?

Yes. I shoot digital and analogue at every wedding I cover. You can see more on my analogue page.

How much does your wedding photography cost?

Packages start from £3k. Have a look at my investment page for the full breakdown.
